‘Feel Good February’ – Half Term Week!

Mar 4, 2024 | News

This half term holiday has been one of the busiest and most varied we can remember – over 80 young people took part in 20 different activities.  Our holiday activities took the theme of “Feel it all February” and most of the activities that young people took part in were not only enjoyable, but also aimed to support positive health and wellbeing too.  We firmly believe that taking part in fun and challenging activities can help us feel good, and be an important part of self-care.
Activities included walks, trips to the fair, the ice-cream parlour, the Cinema and some special sporting activities – more about these below.  We love being able to offer trips that inspire and give young people opportunities to try out something different, or go somewhere new – broadening their horizons and making fun memories.

BMX Tracks and High Ropes Courses!

Some of our young people were lucky enough to try their skills on a BMX course.  What an amazing experience this was for them – exercising and having fun as well as boosting their confidence as they tried something new.

Another group of young people had the opportunity to go to Doe Park Activity Centre – where they were able to challenge themselves to face their fears, whilst also learning the importance of encouraging each other.  They were very brave and we’re sure their confidence increased massively!
Thank you The Sutton Centre, Bradford for funding these two fantastic trips and Bradford Bandits BMX Racing Club for the coaching sessions!

A visit to Knowles Court Residential Home

Our Sutton social action group had a very special time visiting Knowles Court residential home where they were able to spend time playing games, taking part in crafts and most importantly having conversations and sharing their different experiences of life with some of the residents. Intergenerational work is something we have started to do more and more as we know how beneficial it can be for all involved.  We loved our time at Knowles Court!

Holme Wood Health Fair

What better way to shout about the work we do than by young people themselves!   Our BD4 Youth Social Action Group did an amazing job of staffing our stall, chatting to people, taking photos, serving food and making friendship bracelets.  It was a great event and the young people involved did us proud!
