BDisLit Community Light Festival

Nov 20, 2023 | News

What an amazing evening we were able to put on in Bowling Park recently, as part of the BDisLit events in Bradford!

As daylight began to disappear, a small corner of the park suddenly came alive with a lovely community atmosphere and beautiful lights, showcasing an art exhibition in the trees, created by emerge young people and other local groups.  It was a wonderful community gathering, involving lots of hot chocolate, arts and crafts, a percussion group (created on the spot!) chats around the fire pit, sparklers, an amazing circus skills performance (thank you to Daryl Hackett) and even a visit from the Cottingley Fairies – it was all very special!

Our young leaders, as always, did a fantastic job helping us to prepare and run the event and we want to say a big thank you to all who took part, volunteered and came along to support us that evening, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!  A big thank you also to The Leap for the funding they gave us for this event.

For those who were unable to attend, here is an explanation of the various pieces of art that were created for the Tree Gallery.
