A Fantastic Summer!
What a fantastic summer of activities we have had with young people!
Details of our three ‘big weeks’ are below, but we were also able to do several trips and ‘meet ups’ with young people – smaller in size but just as important! These included bike rides, walks in the countryside, paddling in rivers and we were even able to take some young people on a barge!
We love our summer holiday work – as well as being full of fun and positive activities for young people – it’s a great time for our youth workers to get to know the young people in our communities even more and to be able to offer support when needed.
Sanctuary
We took a group of young people out to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, filling their days with walks in the beautiful countryside, fun games, campfires and space and time to chat in small groups. What a special few days it was – memory making, experiencing new places and discovering more about faith and God.
Bubbles
This was an event that was started during Covid times when we could only work with smaller numbers – but it worked so well we decided to continue with it! We ran a 2 day bubble programme twice and the days were full of arts and crafts, team games, water fun games, and basically just lots of fun! We had 35 young people attend over the 4 days.
XSport
A 3 days sports camp, from 10am – 5.30pm each day – jam packed full of fun activities related to sport – but where you need no expertise or experience! It was a fantastic few days where nearly 100 young people had the chance to gain new skills in their favourite sport, try out new sports, make new friends and have a lot of fun with a bit of light hearted competition!
