Emerge young people supporting the wider community

Jun 13, 2025 | News

Our Young Leaders and a wider group of young people have recently been involved in several community events that took place through the week; a Community Fun day in Bierley, a Spring Fayre in Holme Wood and events at the Beacon in Bowling Park.

Our young leaders have become so used to taking part in community events, they have gained quite the reputation (in a good way!) and it’s not unusual for community groups to specifically ask for them to be part of their event.  They don’t just turn up and show their faces either!  They are completely involved in the planning, the budgeting, the setting up and packing away and of course the leading of activities. This time they were staffing the barbeque and running games, crafts and sports for other children to take part in. They were also very much part of The Labyrinth activity at The Beacon, encouraging members of the community to take part in the experience.  We are so proud of these young people in the way they freely give their time, work so hard and have such a big desire to ‘give back’ to the community.  We couldn’t do what we do without them!
