Wow, what a week!
We’ve been busy in London working with the Battersea Power Station developers to finish our new drop in space – think DIY SOS as it was definitely right down to the wire! However, we did manage to complete the majority of the works in time to make it look pretty for our first showcase of it. We invited all the workers and their managers around to have a sneak preview and also so the FAST young people could say a face to face thank you.
Read what Battersea Power Station have said about the development here.
We followed this, at the end of the week, with a huge community Summer Festival as a grand opening for the space. This was officially marked by the Mayor of Wandsworth Councillor Nicola Nardelli and local MP Jane Ellison cutting the ribbon.
“I am absolutely delighted to be part of the opening of FAST’s new drop-in space. It is such a valuable project for the Patmore Estate. FAST, together with Kerry, is doing fantastic work in getting Patmore’s young people focused and also into work I hope this continues well into the future.”

It was a truly amazing day with over 350 people attending for food, games, sports, graffiti and arts workshops, inflatables, face painting and to top it off a giant water fight which, due to the 30 degree heat, was welcomed by all generations!
We can’t wait to open the space for business. We have a few bits to finish off but we will be ready for our first drop-in on Tuesday 8th September.
