A new year often brings new beginnings, but here at FAST our goal remains the same; to inspire hope and transformation within young people on the Patmore, Savona and Carey Gardens estates.
The Winter Festival saw us partnering with Battersea Power Station and Wandsworth Council to bring together over 200 residents of all ages to enjoy various activities including a bouncy castle, dance-offs, making superhero capes and masks, face painting, graffiti and sports. This year’s festival celebrated an increase in active participation from our young people with one being lead photographer for the day, another leading the charge to help break down barriers between young people and the police by encouraging an officer to get involved in a football match and a core group of our females preparing ingredients generously donated by Waitrose Nine Elms and cooking them up into a delicious soup which they served on the day. Another local resident made 100 amazing cupcakes that were snapped up by residents within minutes.
Once again we are so thankful for the amazing support of our volunteers, including those that came along from corporate partner EQT. They provided brilliantly enthusiastic volunteers to help us with the smooth running of the event.
