We are excited to share our new developments for e:merge and our growing aspiration for young people.
In 2012 Kerry Astin started FAST, a young people’s project in Patmore, South West London, as a heartfelt response to the need she had experienced through her work in that community. Her compassion for the young people and their situations inspired action. Gang violence, disproportionate levels of poverty and an air of hopelessness motivated her to take a courageous step of faith. Kerry set up a charity and began to champion and inspire those young people with a similar approach to e:merge.
e:merge and FAST believe in the same thing, share the same motivation and approach to young people, and the same desire to make a difference. On the 1st April 2015 the two organisations have merged, making FAST a part of e:merge. As a result FAST is able to benefit from the strength of a larger and more established organisation, whilst e:merge is able to enhance our services and increase our voice for young people. We need to be ambitious for the young people we serve and we will be stronger as one organisation.
These changes bring new challenges for e:merge but we believe that, as a result of these decisions, thousands more young people will be inspired to change their lives and communities becoming the people God made them to be.
Our new website reflects our new developments and is a great place to keep up to date with all things e:merge. Have a look around and share it with your friends and family.
