This young man is on his final warning before permanent exclusion from school. He struggles with school generally, can’t concentrate, gets angry easily, quick to answer back. Behind the mask and the bravado is a hurting young man, whose unknowing teacher pushes triggers from a painful past, creating an irrational and overprotective response. This lad was referred to Tim for one to one coaching support.
Scary Stat: 1 in 5 young people who are permanently excluded from mainstream school are dead by the age of 25!
For the first time in his life he is talking about and working through the complex upbringing he has experienced. This young man is talented and has incredible potential. He is now recognising his emotions. He has a new sense of aspiration and is taking ownership over his life. This week he went to his History lesson. Still not seeing eye to eye with his teacher but recognising the value and consequences of his actions and more resilient. The journey with him will continue, but in school!
